                   AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING AN ALLEY
                   LOCATED SOUTHWEST FROM EAST 31ST STREET,
                   BETWEEN 7TH AVENUE AND 8TH AVENUE, MORE
                   PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN.

              	   SECTION 1.  BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
         CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby 
closed
         and abandoned an alley located southwest from East 31st Street, 

         between 7th Avenue and 8th Avenue, more particularly described
         herein, and as shown on plat attached hereto and made a part
         hereof by reference:
                   A 12 foot wide alleyway beginning on the
                   southwest line of East 31st Street 135 feet
                   southeast of the intersection of the southwest
                   line of East 31st Street with the southeast line
                   of 7th Avenue, and extending southwest 430 feet
                   between parallel lines, and parallel to 7th
                   Avenue, to the northeast line of East 32nd
                   Street.  Said alleyway separates lots 1-4, block
                   4, LeClercq's Addition to East Lake, as shown by
                   plat of record in deed book G, volume 8, page
                   659, ROHC, and lots 5-8 and C, block 1, S.M.
                   Watkin's Subdivision of LeClercq's Addition to
                   East Lake, as shown by plat of record in deed
                   book W, volume 8, page 56, ROHC, from lots 9 and
                   B, block 1, said Watkin's Subdivision, and lots
                   10-16, block 4, said LeClercq's Addition.  Tax
                   Map No. 156O-G-34-49.

              	   SECTION 3.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this 
Ordinance
         shall take effect two weeks from and after its passage as 
provided
         by law.
